Aside from the personal insights into the Prime Minister gained at close quarters, there was much discussion on the excellent shape of the Australian economy, the strong likelihood of the continuation of the resources boom caused by economic demand in China, and the strength of the local services sector as a driver of the ongoing growth in the local economy.

“ Mr Howard was also extremely interested to learn of the role played by McCarthy Group in two areas that are so topical, these being the construction of housing and the provision of opportunities in the form of investment properties that support the future retirement needs of working Australians”, said Stephen McCarthy.

“We also discussed the structural issues affecting property prices and in particular the strong demand in areas like North Queensland where demand continues to outstrip supply’” added McCarthy.

Stephen and Daniel had the opportunity to join Mr Howard on his trademark walk following a charity auction in aid of Cystic Fibrosis New South Wales, an organization of which McCarthy Group is a sponsor.
